PRESS RELEASE

Pore-size tunable new porous carbon, carbon nano-cage, has been developed by Dr.Vinu.
This work was reported in the corner of 'Introduction of New functional materials' in Japanese press (Daily Chemical Industry, Japanese name: KAGAKU KOGYO NIPPOU). This press said that his new carbon material will be used as fuel cell material, separation filter, and so on.

PRESS RELEASE

Toshiyuki Mori (Deputy Managing Director and nano-ionics materials group leader) and Motoi Takahashi (nano-ionics materials group researcher) of fuel cell materials center (Managing Director: Chikashi Nishimura), NIMS (president: Teruo Kishi) developed new Pt-CeO2 composite anode material, whose performance exceeds that of Pt/Ru anode material. Usually, PtRu alloy anode has some problems such as Ru being a rare earth metal with low stability in acid, and that Pt is difficult to recycle.
Toshiyuki Mori and Motoi Takahashi developed Pt-CeO2 composite anode electrode materials, which has high acid stability and low cost. The materials showed high electrode properties, which are high off set potential (about 30mW lower than that of PtRu) and high current density (1.5 times).

This research reported below newspaper.
